We got a new toy.....

Got us a 3000 watt generator from Pep Boys today....Cost us right at $350 out the door.....I owe a big Thank You to my wife....She is one hell of a woman and likes our racing almost as much as I do....I'll keep the blog posted as to the happiness after we use it for awhile. Just got to put the new axle in, mount the seat, body and the new frame will be ready to go.

We didn't get to race.....

But the Nemi is sold and I'll order a new Falcon tomorrow....Worked on the motor tonight....Got the rings sized....The rest is just putting it back together...and setting the timing....I'm not changing anything else. Not sure if we will get everything back together to run next weekend or not....? If so we will have to find somewhere else to run besides NGMS they are not going to be open. Thanx to Michael Worsham....He runs at NGMS where we race and offered his kart for us to run at this next points race. Without his help and his kart we would have missed this race because I'm delivering the 03 Nemi tomorrow to Rick somewhere close to Six Flags....It will be the first time in 5 years that we won't have a running kart....Won't be for long I'll call Bradley Monday morning. I even smell an Animal in our future.

I think the kart finally sold....

It's about time....I have to deliver it this Saturday. Then we will be able to buy a new Falcon frame and get back on the track. It's been almost a month now since we hit the track....Can't wait to get back at it.

Come with seat, body and set of Burris tires. No this is not the frame we bent at the track Saturday night....We are going to have to sale the Nemi to get a new Falcon rail.

Man what a night....

It was not our night.....Had a flat on the trailer on the way to the track and didn't have a spare...Got that fixed and finally made it to the track. Went out for 1st round practice with 22's and was turning low 13's....Just about as fast as any other stocklite kart....Started on the pole for the 2nd heat was leading by 5 or 6 karts lengths when the helicoil pulled out of the bottom exhaust hole....Pipe was just a flopping....Ended up 2nd....Tried to fix it but it came loose again during controlled practice with our new set of HT3's and was a rocket. We put a new heilcoil in and patched it back together for the main....He looked like he was going to be fast but didn't have the chance to find out....Wrecked on the first lap and I think we bent the frame....We watched from the infield as the race went on without us. It was such a sickening feeling looking at our bent kart as the other went by lap after lap....But that wasn't as bad as the look on Devin's face....He took it like a man and we will go on....I just got to come up with around $600 for a new frame rail. Like I said....What a night.

Finished 6th out of 17.....

The rain that came right when we were supposed to start practice got the best of us....Qualified 16th out of 17 with a 18.65...Pole was close to a 16.86 Worked on tires and finished 6th....FT in main 17.03 Missed rear gear by one or maybe two teeth. Long straights and tight turns made Peachstate tuff....Devin got the hang of it by the main and was pitching it into 3 & 4 pretty good....The front runners were getting thru 3 & 4 much better. We had a mid-pack kart and did good to finish there.

Let's go get-um at NGMS tomorrow....6th points race of the year....Setting in 5th now.

Stocklite results....5th points race at NGMS....7-1-06

He ran 4th for about 2/3 of the race...Top 5 karts were nose to tail....Devin tried to go too low in 3 and 4 and spun....Went to the back and came back to 8th out of a 16 kart field. We had a fast kart, just can't get no luck on a points night. Motor was strong....Tires were dead on. 12.55 FT in the main.

We won.....

The kart was on a rail and Devin kept it perfectly in the groove the whole race....FT 12.53 backed up by many laps in the 12.50's...I couldn't believe the track was that fast with only about 40 karts total in all classes. He started dead last in the heat and came to the front on the first lap...Lead every lap after that for the rest of the night. Damn it feels good to run well but it feels even better to win....Wins have been few and far between for us. It looks like the motor is finally sealed up good on the intake side and the new cam likes the RPM's (Thanx Jimmy).

NGMS stocklite points race #4....6-10-06 results

We either finished 7th or 6th depending on the outcome of the tech of the 3rd place karts motor...? Motor ran well....I think it's fixed....It did smoke a little after turing a 12.53 in mid-round practice. Kart was fast we just didn't finish well....On the up side it looks like the new owners are really serious about making NGMS a top notch race track....They have worked their tails off the past 2 weeks....Come on out and run or watch.

And I have been working on it since Tues. after work...Guess what has not gotten worked on like it should.....Yep, the kart.

I hope getting the motor fixed will get us back close to the front....Not really...I hope it puts us IN THE FRONT....But a top 5 will be a good run for us. Devin is in 6th out of 14 that have ran every points race so far.

So-So night for us....

Finished 8th out of 18...Not the finish we had hoped for....It was one wild night at the track...Tempers were flying and so was the yellow flags. We got to meet the new owners of NGMS and they say they are gonna treat the track like a full time job. I haven't added up the points yet but I think we will be around 5th. The pic above is the finishing order of the 3rd points race in stocklite at NGMS.

I think we are ready for them....

Motor sealed up good....Tires have been worked....Nose has been fixed....and damn the new black Q+'s look good.

I just hope if David has sold the track that the new people keep it open.

I don't think the seat has moved....The guide is not too bad either. I lapped it....no more light.
