So-So night for us....

Finished 8th out of 18...Not the finish we had hoped for....It was one wild night at the track...Tempers were flying and so was the yellow flags. We got to meet the new owners of NGMS and they say they are gonna treat the track like a full time job. I haven't added up the points yet but I think we will be around 5th. The pic above is the finishing order of the 3rd points race in stocklite at NGMS.

I think we are ready for them....

Motor sealed up good....Tires have been worked....Nose has been fixed....and damn the new black Q+'s look good.

I just hope if David has sold the track that the new people keep it open.

Daylight between the valve and seat.....

I don't think the seat has moved....The guide is not too bad either. I lapped it....no more light.

I found some more.....

Got valve work to do....The intake was leaking bad and the exhaust valve was hitting the head.....It's a wonder it ran at all. I guess the intake seat is settling.....I'll recheck the lash and that should tell me.

Well...I found part of the problem....

Intake side looks good.... Exauhst is not supposed to hit at all....Got to go up on spring pressure this week on that side. Cyclinder wall looks great...I will relap the valves since im right there anyway.

Damn it sucks to run in the back....

We ran in the back just about all night....They got all but Amateur and Stocklite in before the rain won....Devin ran 3rd in Stock medium for about 5 or 6 laps and then the kart just fell to the back....? Why....? I don't know yet....We may have motor problems...Same thing happened at the last points race.

Numbers were way off on a set of real scales. This Falcon kart will not run on low cross even on a track with just about no grip. Got it back to where it should be and it came to life in the Med. main....I thought till I watched the last half of the race...I hope it was tires...But it's prolly motor and I have only me to blame.

Lot's of hours in the shop tomorrow and after work this coming week....Got to get it all figured out before this next points race.

I want a set of these....

These are bad as hell....I want buy any more plan ones and we might sale our others and run only these....? I'll have to see what it will cost...Best price so far for 2 sets shipped is $250.

Scaled the kart tonight and it looks like we are gonna have to move the seat...Still got to get it back on our scales and see if I can get the numbers right with just moving lead....The 25 lbs of sheet lead in the seat doesn't affect the percentages as much as I figured it would....Only about 1/2% the wrong way.

We got us a tire roller......

Well it's really an old blueprint machine from the office....It works good and even has a heated roller. Now if I just knew what to put in them....? I think I'll try the op in our old 33's.

Sold the Vega's and looking for the new black Q+'s with new 22's

We got the lead for the seat done.....Now we will be able to run lite and med.

Started getting everything ready tonight in the shop...Got to re-check all the stagger....Time to take all the writing off our tires....If they wanna know they will have to ask from now on.....I have always helped anyone that asked and will continue to do so up to a point....We all have a few under our hat that we keep to ourselves.

Us at the track...4-22-06

Races went real fast tonight...We ran a few laps after the races were over and we still pulled out at 10:00.

Kevin and Thomas put on a show in stocklite....They swaped the lead back and forth 4 or 5 times....Devin was right there in 3rd....Thomas won it...Kevin ran 2nd and Devin ran 3rd.....We had a fast kart for the main.

Motor is coming right along....

Cylinder cleaned up pretty good....New rings went in well....Side cover had to have new gaskets...End play was dead-on first try....New cam and spring pressure is all set.....Still got the valve lash to set and get the timing right....Got to switch tanks the old one was leaking....I'll finish it Sat. and break it in....And don't forget cut the grass.

I look for us to have a good night at the track Saturday night...Tires are being worked on and motor should be good-to-go.

State race.....

Well it didn't go as well as we had hoped....Qulified .408 seconds off the pole.

1st Tippens 12.159
2nd Mize 12.172
3rd Davis 12.298
4th Harper 12.525
5th Walden 12.556
6th Wheeler 12.567
7th Gray 12.837

Air pressure killed us...We wemt out on 5&6...Bradley said we should have been closer to 10&12. Live and learn.

The feature didn't go much better....16-65 gear and only turned 6400-6500 needed to turn 6800....I think part of our problem was motor...I noticed oil getting by just about all the seals and the scaring in the cyclinder wall was showing it's ugly head. We ran close to the back till karts started spinning and got up to 4th or 5th our of 9 (2 karts didn't quilify) We wouldn't have had anything for the Tippins guy...He was a rocket. We turned a 12.30 in the feature I fell like the winner was in the high 11's so we were still close to 4 tenths off. All in all a good learning experence for us. Got to tear down the motor this week and rebuild it.

Working in the shop....

Got most of the motor back together...Still got to get the pipe on it. Sized up the Vega's....Almost burnt down the house, heat gun fell out of the hole and set the outside of the heatbox on fire...Good thing I never leave it running for very long. I cought it in time to just put it out with a couple pales of water.

Also patched the nose of the kart...I didn't like the stuff I used it was green gel and not the clear stuff.
